Samsung’s next flagship – Galaxy S8 – may not be coming at the Mobile World Congress 2017, but it has already created quite a stir. Now a fresh batch of schematics based on eye-witness account, of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have surfaced online. We reported about the schematics coming straight from a case maker and had no headphone jack, last month.
As per the new batch of schematics, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will have an additional button on the right side of the phone. That is a dedicated button to launch of Samsung’s new digital assistant called Bixby.
The Home button with an integrated sensor will rest next to the Camera at the back. With that, the Super AMOLED display will enjoy more real-estate and will have dual curves at both sides. The Galaxy S8 will have a 5.7-inch display with 1440p pixel resolution and an odd 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8 Plus will sport a 6.1-inch display with similar 1440p resolution and aspect ratio.
The schematics also show the headphone jack, and that should give you a sigh of relief. That said, Samsung will introduce a new pair of Level In ANC earphones with active noise cancellation.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will house the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and pack 4GB of RAM. Both phones will come with 64GB and 128GB storage option. By default, both will boot Android 7.0 Nougat with a layer of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. The latest rumour suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will pack a 3,250 mAh battery and the Galaxy S8 Plus to pack a 3,750 mAh battery.
As more speculations continue to pour in, it is hard to confirm them without substantial evidence. Samsung is expected to tease the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus at the Mobile World Congress 2017. The actual launch of the 2017 flagship devices will take place on March 29.[Source: CNET Korea]
