Meizu is sending invites for a press conference on February 28 at MWC 2017

Meizu is sending out invites for a special launch on February at the Mobile World Congress 2017. The press conference is scheduled a day after the MWC 2017 kicks off officially. The invite doesn’t mention anything or tease any smartphone.

The Meizu has put up the invite on its China website and on the official forum boards. The invite carries  the following text : Faster than ever. There is a lightning bolt symbol drawn using streaks of lightning. That leaves the invite open to multiple interpretations.

The Meizu Forum post talks about the company introducing an integrated antenna design with the PRO 6 last year. Also, the mBack feature at the rear of the phone to support gesture.

We also have guessed one. Meizu plans to unveil the next generation fast charging technology. The current fast charging feature dubbed mCharge is not even close to impressive. The Meizu M5s launched last week packs a 3,000 mAh battery and can be charged up to 20 percent in a matter of 10 minutes. Clearly that’s not enough to compete with the Quick Charge 3.0 and VOOC supporting devices.

As of now, we don’t know if Meizu also has another smartphone under coat to unveil at the MWC 2017. The press conference will start at 10AM local time in Barcelona, Spain.
