MWC 2017: Gionee A1 and A1 Plus debut with bigger batteries for the selfie frenzy folks

Gionee has introduced a new ‘A series’ to its portfolio of smartphones at the MWC 2017. The new Gionee A-series includes two young members – Gionee A1 and A1 Plus. Both smartphones are meant for the selfie lovers and also pack bigger batteries.

Both Gionee A1 and Gionee A1 Plus have some similarities and are distinct when it comes to their physical size. Gionee has used new image sensors that have a 4-cell to capture more light data and work well even in low-light conditions.

Gionee A1

The Gionee A1 features a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display to ensure that those selfies look of top quality. On the other hand, Gionee A1 Plus features a larger 6-inch display and has twin camera setup at the rear. Take a look at the spec sheet of both the phones.

The highlight of the Gionee A-series phones is the new dual-chip charging solution. The company bundles 18Watt Ultrafast charger with both the phones to enable fast charging. This is Gionee’s solution for bigger battery packing smartphones. The company claims that the 18Watt Ultrafast charger can juice up the phones in 2 hours.

For best audio experience, Gionee teamed with Waves Audio to enhance the stereo speakers for pumping out richer audio.

Gionee A1 starts at EUR 349 (₹24,650 approximately) and will go on sale in March starting India and Nepal markets. The Gionee A1 Plus on the other hand costs EUR 499 (₹35,245 approximately) and is expected to hit the stores in April.
