Nokia 7’s first update brings camera improvements along with November security patch

The Finnish smartphone manufacturer launched the Nokia 7 in October in China. The device is expected to hit the global market sometime in 2018 as HMD confirmed that the Nokia 7 is not coming to India anytime soon. However, the new smartphone has started receiving its first update along with the latest November security patch. Folks in China should be seeing this update with build number 064C-B02 on their Nokia 7 smartphone.

Nokia 7: Software Update & November 2017 Android Security Patch

The OTA update weighs around 172MB and promises some camera-related improvements as well as the November security patch. The update also brings better face recognition, system stability, network performance and power savings. Nokia, on their official Weibo account, confirmed the update and also promised to release the latest security patch without any delay. In fact, the company explained in detail regarding this update on their official Weibo account.

Nokia 7: Features, Specifications

As for the specifications, the Nokia 7 flaunts a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 panel. It features a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with 4K video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with autofocus. The Nokia 7 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, which is coupled with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage space with an option to expand it (via microSD card slot).

The Nokia 7 is fuelled by a non-removable 3000mAh battery and support for Quick Charge technology for rapid charging. For connectivity, there is 4G (with VoLTE), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone port. The Nokia 7 also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and is IP54-certified for dust and splash resistance. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, and the company is promising to release the Android 8.0 update.
