Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro now available for pre-order in India

Samsung’s most feature-packed non-flagship smartphone, the Galaxy C9 Pro, is now up for pre-order for Indian consumers. Like the Galaxy A9 Pro, the C9 Pro comes with a large screen and battery but also offers a slew of other features not seen on any previous Samsung smartphone in India (at least not as far as we can remember) such as 6GB RAM, stereo loudspeakers, and a USB Type-C port.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro: Specifications

There’s a 16-megapixel camera for selfies on the front, stereo speakers for an enhanced multimedia experience, and an all-metal body. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM, joining the ranks of the numerous Chinese smartphones available in India today. Other specs include a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, the octa-core Snapdragon 653 chipset, 64GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD slot, and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with phase detection autofocus and f/1.9 aperture (the front camera also has the same aperture).

There’s a 4,000 mAh battery under the hood with quick charging support via a USB Type-C port. The C9 Pro has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button, and on the connectivity front, it offers features like Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, dual SIM slots, and 4G LTE with VoLTE support. The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat at some point in the future.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro: Pricing and Availability

All these specs come at a premium, with the Galaxy C9 Pro priced at ₹36,900. The phone can be pre-ordered in black and gold from Samsung’s online store and Amazon (Flipkart has it, too, but is currently out of stock), and through offline stores. No matter where you buy it from, you will get a one-time screen replacement for the low price of ₹990 as long as you register with your primary mobile number and keep that number in the phone till Samsung sends over the code for accessing the screen replacement offer.

The Galaxy C9 Pro orders will start shipping on February 24th if you order it from Samsung, while Amazon is offering an earlier release date of February 20th. Take your pick, and look forward to our detailed review of the handset in the coming weeks.
